Default Nice Affordable Housing

Moving to the Maryland, DC area. Just been offered a position in Bethesda, MD. Looking for affordable and safe housing in the area. My budget is 1100/month on rent. I'm open to suggestions on areas that are safe and metro accessible within or around the Bethesda area.

Germantown, outer areas of Montgomery County will be cheaper.
You may need to check outlying counties due to cost. Maybe Frederick/Washington Counties in Md. In Va, Manassas or Spotsylvania Counties might be cheaper. When I was single & working in Rockville (near Bethesda) I did find a cheap apt in Takoma Park Md (Montgomery County side). It was on the subway & close to DC. Takoma Park Md might be RISKY now. They have a lot of houses that r shared, which might help cost wise.
Also found Germantown, Md to be convient & affordable re: apts & shared houses. If u drive, alot depends on rush hour & the commuter rt.s like 270. I switched to the metro (subway) when traffic got bad. I found places further out, that were accessiable by the Metro (subway).

Goggle Metro subway map and research towns that are further out on the red line. If u do not mind one additional transfer check out the yellow line in Va. Your commute will be longer to save money.
Bethesda has a metro stop on the red line. For a cost, each county has a commuter (DASH or Ride-On) bus system that will get u from your neighborhood to subway.Good Luck, keep safe.
