I would live in Cumberland and take the supertrain to D.C. every morning. The train would go 200mph and take 1 hour to get there including stops

Yeah, that would be a supertrain, and super people to be able to get on quick enough at the stops. I think it takes just about 2 hours to downtown from here.

I would 3rd Bethesda.
For VA I would say Clifton or one of those great neighborhoods in N. Arlington.
In DC I would say one of those awesome NW neighborhoods near Cleveland Park, or maybe Kalorama.

All the places that everyone has named so far are excellent places to live, however I'm more partial to the areas along the South River, places like Riva, Edgewater, Selby, Mayo and I'm more partial to a little area known as Glenn Isle, puts me in close proximity to the Annapolis docks area or even one of my favorite restaurants, Mike's in Riva or even Yellowfin a little further down river on the opposite side...

Maryland -- Southern AA or PG, Charles or Calvert.
Virginia -- Eastern Prince William or Fredericksburg.

I don't know that I would choose Bethesda... I ache for a simpler life.. so I'd choose New Market in Frederick County, Mt Airy in Frederick/Carol County, Brunswick in Frederick County..
