Annapolis to DC commute?
DH has a job offer in DC. I've read all the threads on commuting from Annapolis to DC, and it sounds like the least horrible would be to take Rte 50 to the New Carrollton MARC station. He'd take Metro in DC to his office.
How long would this take? DH would work near the White House, and would leave the house around 5 a.m. He hates driving. The drive to the MARC station appears to be 30 minutes or so (barring accidents).
Does this sound feasible? Or is it too crazy?

I live in Annapolis and that commute time to New Carrolton sounds just about right.

I used to commute from Crofton to DC. Crofton is West of Annapolis on Rte 50 so slightly closer. I would say that 30 minutes to the New Carrollton station is about right. I think there is a commuter bus from Annapolis to the New Carrolton Station, though depending on his hours, it may or may not be a viable option. If he is going to leave at 5a, I would consider driving. I think the biggest thing to consider about the commute is Friday afternoon/evening beach traffic in the summer. It is awful and starts early. It took me minimum 1.25 to take the metro to work downtown from Crofton. I would expect his commute to be 1.5 door to door. If he drives it will be shorter. He could probably make it in an hour if he leaves early and comes home early.

I don't commute there daily for work or anything, but I do live in Annapolis and I go to DC a lot, and that's the way I always go. From my house it's about a 20 min. drive to the New Carollton metro stop.
From there, it depends on where in DC he works. You said he's near the White House, so I'd guess he should get off around the Metro Center stop, which would take about 30 minutes of riding on the metro. So in total the commute would probably be about an hour, which is quicker and easier than driving on the DC beltway.

I worked at the Pentagon for three years and drove from Annapolis to New Carollton every day. From Exit 29 (almost to the Bay Bridge) to New Carollton took me about 24 minutes (at 6am). Getting home in the evening was another matter.
