Smile Ocean City vacation ideas

Hi,
I have a few questions regarding planning a mini family vacationin Ocean City. Your input would be greatly appreciated. We are a family of four looking for a few days to a week to get away to the shore. I have been to OC in the past but I cannot recall the Hotel I stayed at.

So my questions are:

Can anyone rec. a good/clean/new/family friendly Hotel in Ocean City MD. ?
We need a pool & we need to be on the Ocean block (hauling 2 kids & beach stuff is a bummer) I ask for a new Hotel only because I want nothing with sagging mattresses or skeevey...yuck. I am an ultra clean person so if I see or smell something skeevey we won't check in.

Would we be better off looking for a private rental condo? I have excellent references....hint hint.

It's so difficult to pick a place without seeing it first. The internet reviews are not always accurate, so I thought I would ask folk who live there.

What's the best time of year to visit OC? Is early June ok?
What activities are there for toddlers? The adult water park is out unless they have a kiddy area (I've only heard about the water park, never been there) Thank you all in advance for your responses.

I highly reccommend the Hilton Suites Oceanfront on 32nd street. My family and I just returned from a well need vacation from there and we really had the time of our lives. We rented a 1 bedroom oceanfront suite and it was over accommodating for our family of 4. It really is like being in a condo with the extra perks of, daily maid service, restaurant and bar on premisis, 3 pools (kiddie pool is amazing) and top notch service from every employee we came in contact with. From the bellman to the front desk clerks to the employees at the Starbucks. Hilton has really taken time to train their staff on exceptional service. I have stayed at many hotels and motels in Ocean City and I have decided, since this trip, that I will never stay anywhere else but the Hilton. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time on any other hotel in Ocean City. The rates are getting ready to go up for the summer months but they go back down in September. Visit their website at www.oceancityhilton (broken link). com for more info if you are interested in the Ocean City vacation of a lifetime.

Thanks for the scoop ! I looked at their website & I'm impressed. It seems very nice. A little pricey at $259 per nite but I have learned that you get what you pay for. I appreciate your advice & feedback

I would go the condo route. Try Coldwell Bankers website for condo rentals. They have some nice places on there. I have stayed at The Hilton also but I can only afford it in the winter months. No way will I pay 400 per night for a hotel in OC. June in OC is over run with high school graduates from several states and they can be wild. My suggestion is late July or early August. The water doesn't get warm until then. Ocean City can be expensive for a family anymore. The bygone days of cheap rooms are over. Its cheaper to go to Cancun and stay at an all inclusive resort then to go to OC.
