Question Oakland Mills, Snowden River, Owen Brown----areas to live or avoid? Need your assistance!

Greetings All,
I am relocating to Columbia soon and I reviewed areas in the aforementioned sections. Will someone provide me with greater detail?
Thanks in advance!

I don't think there's much difference between oakland mills and owen brown neighborhoods (they are very close to each other). Snowden River isn't a neighborhood per se, but a road that encompasses several, incl. long reach.

We lived in Owen Brown from '85-'95 and there really isn't much difference in those areas. They're all established and the homes are older, but most have been well maintained. Are you looking at apartments, townhomes, single family? I do know the crime rate is higher in the apt and some of the townhome communities where there are more renters and more section 8 renters.

These communities are predominantly townhomes, so I'm assuming you are shopping for a townhouse...???...

I think from an long term investment standpoint, you might be better in the townhome communities off of Snowden River. There are new developements as well further down that are in good locations.

Being in a buyer's market, you can negotiate well. Since all the easy access shopping and accessibility is near Snowden, that is my vote.

You can search the MLS on my website, if you need a realtor, please let me know...

Of the three choices, I'd say Owen Brown first, then the Kings Contrivance area (I'm guessing this is what you're referring to). Oakland Mills has come down in quality in the years, and isn't as nice as it used to be. (I lived in Owen Brown for a few years, but grew up in Hickory Ridge).
