Hello -

I am going to be visiting the Baltimore area next week. My brother is buried in Edgewood. Can anyone tell me the names of the cemeteries there? My father was stationed in the Army there when my brother died in the 50s. I'd like to visit his grave, but my elderly mother can't recall the name of the cemetery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jeanne McGee

I am racking my brain to think of any graveyards in Edgewood and I am coming up empty. The closest I can think of is Trinity Lutheran Church in Joppa on Route 7. There is also a small church cemetary in Joppa on Rumsey Island at the Church of the Resurrection. There is also a large cemetary on Route 152 at Mountain Christian Church. Further up Route 40 in Abingdon is Cokesbury United Methodist Church on Abingdon Road. Good Luck in your search.

Jeanne,

Could he be buried on post? (On the Aberdeen Proving Grounds) There are several cemeteries on post with military personnel and their families. I happen to have to a set a books that document all the burials there, if you'd like to send me a Private Message with your brother's name, I'll see if I can find him in the books.

Jane

Jane,

Thanks again! Just to let everyone know, by 10:00 a.m. I had the location of the grave, and instructions and directions from the military base. These message boards can be a real help.

Jeanne

Hi Jane,

Would you consider making your information available on the “find a grave” web site? Someone has already photographed all the graves, but no information exists. You could either type the information in, or take photos of the information and attach it the existing images.

Thanks
