Default Any suggestions of commun. north of Boston?

I will begin a new job in Jan., working primarily in Salem and Beverly, but sometimes in Peabody, and occasionally Lowell. We will have a son entering 10th grade and a daughter entering 7th grade at the time of the move. We have looked at towns from Andover to Beverly. Many of the towns seem nice. We would like to live in a town with a sense of community. Does anyone have suggestions of towns North of Boston? Thanks!

Do you want rural, near the ocean or urban? Are you buying or renting and what is your budget? Public or private school and what is the longest commute you are willing to do? Answering these questions will help us narrow down your choices for you. Personally, as a family moving from the West Coast, we have chosen Marblehead after an exhaustive search based on many community activities, lifestyle, cleaner and cooler air, good schools, lower taxes, unbelievably beautiful and close enough to get to the city if you have to. The towns you mentioned are all close to Marblehead but Marblehead High seems better.
