I hike the Long Trail in Vt and know they have a foothold there. In Mass we recently had an incident of a young boy who was attacked waiting for his bus! They are nasty critters and I agree that trapping may help keep them afraid of people. No probs w/ Black Bear or Fisher cats in VT cause they hunt and trap them.

I just had a fisher cat in my back yard moments ago. Hudson,MA This was the first tiime I knew it was a fisher for sure. The scream was Very creepy it had to be 50' away from me.
