There's a no-kill shelter in Medway, too: http://purrfectcatshelter.org:8080/

One of my neighbors has adopted 3 cats from them. They screen owners and require a home visit.

I have a 7 year old male orange tabby, and although he's a real laid back sweetheart of a cat, it does seem like she'd be better off being in an only cat household. Otherwise, if it wan't for him and my 1 year old goofy dog - I'd help you out.

Hi all,

We have called many of the shelters in the area, but many are currently over capacity and not accepting new animals.

Fingers crossed- looks like we actually have 2 candidates for Sasha. We are interviewing still, so if you think you'd be the perfect parents for Sasha- let me know!

Thanks all~

Default Sasha

If the two candidates do not work out, PLEASE consider keeping Sasha.....
even though you have one declawed cat, one with claws, that would not matter in the long run, as declawed cats use their teeth more in disputes with other cats....the real disadvantage in declawing is in the outdoors, when the cat cannot climb a tree to get away.

We have four cats, and two of them have never gotten along....one of them goes out in the daytime, and the other is out at night....but in the winter, they are both in, and just seem to avoid each other. It takes a long, long time, I admit. Catnip helps, also applying Rescue Remedy ( homeopathic, but they sell it at many pet stores) to the angry cat. Of course feeding them in separate places....
but I do hope that one of the proposed homes works out!

Thanks Chi-Mom...

I would love to keep Sasha, but we figured we would try to see if someone that has always wanted a cat would take her in first.

Either way- she is safe and being loved! We are screening candidates...

( I am on this board, as I am hoping to head back to the East coast in a few years, and am strongly considering Mass.)

Congrats to you!!! Can you give me some ideas for nice areas in NY? I do not want to move back to NYC ( could not afford it!), and want an area which is nice for pedestrians....
