Yes- Sasha is in a great home and we are very happy for her.

As far as NY goes- I grew up in New Paltz- great town!

The Albany area is growing and has alot going for it- many new companies/jobs. As far as being a pedestrian.....then you are talking about a city....

I will certainly look into Albany, and thanks for that idea. There are however, many small town type areas ( usually around big cities, that is true) where one can walk......I live in such an area outside of Chicago.....
so I am looking for something similar....
also am interested in Ithaca NY.

Thanks New Yorker! As I get closer to the time I can move, I will keep checking in here, and may PM you, if you are still here. For now, though, I am stuck for at least 2 years here in the Chicago area.......

Glad you found a home for Sasha. I was going to suggest the shelter in my town which is no-kill and has a large network of foster homes for those times when the shelter is too crowded for new residents.

we called quite a few shelters (they were all full !)

We are happy we were able to place her instead of just passing her along.
