Default Best travel itinerary for Mass to WPB

Hello, we are moving to West Palm Beach, Florida and starting our journey from Billerica Mass. (no, we don't live there, we have family we are visiting, we are currently living in Montreal, Canada)

What recommendations can you folks come up with for the best driving route.

My husband thinks we should take 495 to the Mass Pike the
Mass Pike to route 84 to Scranton PA. From Scranton route 81-S all the way to route 77-S to I-95 South to WPB.

Stopping in Hagerstown MD for the 1st night.
Stopping in Columbia SC for the 2 night.
Stopping in Daytona Beach Fl for the 3 night.

What do you think? Does anyone have a better route?
We are avoiding the NYC and Washington DC area due to high traffic congestion and fear on my part.

I've driven between NJ and Atlanta about 2 dozen times and that's the same general route I've used. I-81 to I-77 to I-85 for me, but you can just keep going and pick up I-95 instead. And from here to NJ, I use I-84 through CT, but it's often clogged up on the weekends in the summer. That's why I usually leave Friday night after dinner.

And yes, whatever you do, avoid I-95. It took my friend 9 hours to get from NJ to Boston on a recent Sunday night using that route. I've also had friends in college use I-95 from NJ to Atlanta and it would take them anywhere from 12-24 hours. I, on the other hand, always used I-81 to I-77 and I would always make it in 13.5-14 hours -- talk about consistent!
