I think mdovell is referring to Westwood Station which is a construction project that has been on hold for a while which is supposed to create more of a walkable center - not sure if it will end up being box stores... - Wegmans had planned to go in there. Aaah, Westwood Station. Well I hope it doesn't end up like the Hingham Shipyard, with lovely offerings like a mattress store, vitamin shop and pet store. I'll look it up, thanks!

Yeah, I found a boston.com article about it and agreed with many of the people who commented. Basically they said "why do we need another retail shopping center?" Legacy Place is right down the road, Patriot Place, too, the South Shore Plaza. I could see if it was going to be a lot of housing, but what I read was that, because of the economy, they started leaning on bigger stores and that's just never any good, same old thing...looks like it might not happen anyway. The state has many more good things it could throw money at!
