Default Moving Co. Recommendations?

Would anyone like to recommend a moving company within the 495 belt? We received a quote from Gentle Giant that made me fall over -- way more than I expected. Many thanks for any replies.

I just moved from Salem,MA to Ashland, MA with Special Forces Moving:

Special Forces Moving - We Guarantee Satisfaction

They were on time, efficient, and very affordable! The move took 5 1/2 hours total and you have to pay for them to drive to your location before they start (I think that is pretty standard anyway).

They were very professional and did not damage anything at all. They had tons of padding to help with delicate items and furniture.

They also were really good guys- happy and smiling.

I'd recommend them to anyone!

We just moved to Weymouth from Somerville and used Precision Moving Co. (http://www.precisionmoving.com/). They were really good -- personable & fast (the move took about 5 1/2 hours). The final cost was actually less than the estimate was, and we didn't have to pay them until the end of the move (after they had unloaded the truck). I have also used Charles River Moving (I think they're based in either Watertown or Belmont) ... they're also good.

For my 5 1/2 hour move, it cost a little under $700, plus tip. That included 3 movers, and the 5 1/2 hours started when they left their headquarters and ended when they got back (they just estimated how long the return trip back would take them).

do not for the life of you go with a company called gentle movers

I worked for them for a bit and saw how they do buisness, people not experienced in moving, found out I worked work with a guy who went through peoples belongings and then cashed her cheques, another man went through the womans underwear draw and smelt them.

I could go on

all the best in your move
