Could someone please give me some information about the city of Marlborough--what it is like to live there, the St. Mary's condominium project in the city and other possibilities for places to live, and recreation and leisure activities?

Marlborough is ok. Not great, not bad. The center of the city (downtown, etc..) is a little sketchy. Large hispanic/brazilian population. The perimeters of the city are much more like a typical decent suburb.

I would say overall Marlborough is a decent place to live, however I wouldn't want to live in the center parts. Thats just me though.

Marlborough is a bit of a mix of some downtrodden (for lack of a better word) and some very nice upscale areas & quite a bit in between.

It really depends what you're looking for. If you can let folks here know a bit about what you're looking for (for ex: urban, suburban, rural; type of activities; commuting distance; budget; recreational activities you enjoy, etc), I'm sure you'll get lots of helpful feedback. I'd also recommend checking out crime stats for an area if you're unfamiliar with it. You can find some info at city-data. There are free iphone apps that show this info, and you can also call the local police, who often are surprisingly helpful when asked about this type of info. I don't think they're really supposed to say an area is safe or unsafe but crime stats are public information and I've found they readily share this info when asked about various neighborhoods.

Best of luck!

Hello all,

I am doing a research study on marlborough and trying to find residents with no telephone service of any kind. Can you suggest places, be it community centers, churches or generally depressed areas, where I can have a better shot of finding such individuals ? Many thanks !

There are lot of high tech companies and jobs here in Marlborough. Public schools are decent and the Charter school (AMSA) is doing very well, ranking in top 20.
