Default Looking for some vacation ideas in Mass.

If anyone can help, I'd very much appreciate it. Here is what we are looking for:

-a small town with a nice downtown district (cafes, bed and breakfast)
-very close to nature where we could take some extended, yet gentle hikes (wife is pregant, but loves to hike)

I'd say you were describing the Berkshire's. Here's a site that might help:

No doubt about it, Northampton is what you are looking for. Lots of funky restaurants, shops, and cafes. Plus there are lots of gentile hiking areas. I would highly recommend hiking the banks of the Mill River near Smith College for you and your wife.
