Driving on My New Lawn is Pissing Me Off
Hey Folks,
Got a new lawn and this is the 4th time someone has pulled onto my lawn, did a little spin of the tires for a little extra damage to the lawn and pulled off. Not just the edge or corner, about 15 feet into the lawn! It's intentional!
Other than day / night cameras (install complete) i was wondering what the legal and liability end of adding a police spike strip to my front lawn would be. Also what the legal and liability end of things are for something like motion activated paintball artillery / mines is.
I don't want to hurt anyone but I certainly don't mind adding some home protection to my lawn! Any thoughts or ideas?

String some fishing line around the perimeter, the good stout stuff like you'd use for trolling.

have you considered building a fence? I would go that route before trying landmines.

I don't mean REAL landmines! I mean paintball landmines! LOL
I'm planning on bushes out front as a fence but I can't put them in until the lawn is done growing and the lawn can't be done because I keep having to replant it! And then if I put in the little bushes they'll drive over those too I'm guessing! Good idea though!

Seeing as we are in the kinder gentler 2010's here is my PC suggestion: do some "work" inside the house. Some night, when it is dark, take some of the the 2X6 boards, full of nails, that you were working with in the house, out on the lawn. If some jerk decides to drive up on your lawn and happens to hit your home improvement project and ruin their tires, it's not your fault..right? I think the spike strips would be an issue.

Interesting! Would I need a sign that says "Construction Underway, Drive on Lawn at Own Risk" or something similar?

Thumbs UP for suggestion. Can't believe people drive into people's lawn like that... they deserve a lesson.

I have noticed some people place large rocks at the edge of their property near the road. Not huge boulders, but basketball sized ones.
