I know I have had blogs....but am getting more detailed in questions. I really want to move back to MA, and am actually going to do it and not just talk about it. Cannot come back till next year, so.....I am looking at homes homes and more homes. I am going to put a large down (50K) on home,,,,,
Any info,,,,,I have been on Trulia.com...sections of the actual city of Worcester; Salisbury St., Forest Grove, Indian Hill, Brittan Square, Newton Square, West Tatnuck...etc. This is the list from Trulia starting with Salisbury St being most expensive medium priced home and then going down.
From the map I see on Trulia, seems like it is North and Northwest corridor that is the nicest??
I am actually starting to drive self crazy,,,as I cannot get out of So. Cal fast enough,,,have one rental property on the market now,,,lived in Eastern Ma till 2003.
I am most likely going to work i Worcester that is why all the questions and will be checking all the burbs also that people have given me info on:Auburn, Spencer, the Brookfields and others.
Thanx,,,then no more questions till next year

Any experts out there??

Sorry for posting,,,,can see that someone just asked a lot about Worcester who is moving....it is all about the zip codes...maybe someone could give me info based on the zip codes....niceness, costs, ethnic groups etc...safety, friendliness....in early 50s moving back, college age kids moving with elderly Mom,,,want safe, tree lined streets, parks,,,old fashioned houses (not ghetto old fashioned,,,)
All the homes I have looked at have all been in nice neighborhoods,,,,,
I am coming from Woodland Hills CA....if anyone has heard of this area,,,pretty famous

Best of luck with your move: Salisbury/Forest/Flagg are GREAT areas and you get what you pay for. Auburn is adventageous only if you need to get onto the Pike and may give you flashbacks to the suburban sprawl you are leaving with all the crossroads and strip malls. Don't even bother driving through Spencer but take a serious look at Leicester Center. NOT Cherry Valley the nondescript 2 miles of Route 9 from the Worc Line but Leicester Center is the best kept secret for the money in Worc County. I have bought a number of properties there since 1996 (sold a couple) and hold some now as rental to the college students at Becker. It is amazing to me for the proximity, homes on good lots with water, sewer and natural gas are priced so low due to the REO's. Best of luck!

I agree with the previous poster... I wouldn't pick Spencer... but if you drive a little further... the Brookfields are nice, especially North and West Brookfield, IMHO. No fan of Auburn... you might also want to check out Shrewsbury.
