Looking specifically for the weekend of Sept 17th and 18th but I just wanted to know for future reference as well. Buying tickets through the dealers and on craigslist seem to be pricey and I'm thinking I can do better but wanted to hear what are some people's experiences. At Virginia Tech, tickets for big football games could be upwards of $500 but you do always do much better on gameday just walking around and keeping your eyes and ears open. Is it a similar situation at Fenway or am I gonna be paying 2 and 3 times face no matter what? Any comments/advice would be great. Great seats aren't a huge priority, just being inside Fenway is the biggest thing. Thanks.

Default Sox ticks

Wait in line by gate E a couple hours before the game. Typically they hand out vouchers and then you can buy a limited # of tickets at face value at 6pm. The drawback is especially for a yankees game you have to be waiting in the same spot for up to 3-4 hours....but the payoff is you get a great seat. I waited in line at 2:30 pm and got tickets to the April Yankees game (the Dice K game) where they hit the 4 HR in a row. got them at 6pm and paid face value $27.

Take some advice from some absolute die-hard Sox fans who I'm friendly with...
Go to games out of town: Baltimore, NYC even Tampa Bay. At $100 for a decent ticket at Fenway, travel somewhere else and go to a few games. THis couple is traveling to St Pete for a 3 game set.
Other people who won't pay these outrageous prices see the PawSox in RI.
