Hurricanes: check. Blizzards: check. Ice and electrical storms: check.
Tornadoes? Not so much. Blessings to all in these areas.
I truly hope there's no looting going on, as a previous post suggested. We just don't do that 'round these parts.

Watching it on tv yesterday I really thought it would hit Worcester. They had that huge tornado in 1953 and they always seem to get hit with storms. But Springfield? Monson? Westfield?

Poor Monson. It was (and I hope it will be again) such a pretty town. I hope Longmeadow did okay and dare I hope Forest Park in Springfield wasn't damaged too much. If anyone back there is reading this--how badly hit was Forest Park, the park itself?

wow, I NEVER would have thought a tornado would do such damage in MA! strange that I'm here in IL looking at tornado damage in MA-figured it would be reversed. goes to show you that crazy weather can happen almost anywhere. hope folks are okay out there. I heard that Agawam got hit too, which made me a bit worried since I know a few folks went out to Six Flags for an extended Memorial day weekend. thankfully they're okay and heading back to Boston today

I hope everyone is okay. I have many relatives and loved ones in the Springfield area, everyone reports they're fine, their homes undamaged. My heart goes out to the people who are not fine, and whose homes and businesses have been impacted.

The coverage by WCVB is amazing. I just can't believe the devastation. SO fortunate to only have had 4 deaths. Tragic, but goodness, it could have been so much worse.

It is pretty surreal to turn GMA and see your town as the top story, unfortunately this tornado hit the most densely populated section of West Springfield and hit it hard. The pictures do not really do it justice. I volunteered with the red cross today to help in any way i could and they really do need more people. It is sad to see people i have known for years trying to clean up knowing that there really is nothing left to salvage. Hopefully we can rebuild bigger and better.

Are you part of the Red Cross effort? I'd head over there to volunteer if they need more hands.
