Default Massachusetts Farmers Markets

With summer on its way I'd like to open a thread to get to know what some of the best farmers markets around the state. This can be Rasberry/Blueberry picking, apple picking and locally produced cider, locally raised meats, best garden vegetable selections, and any local festivals that involve agriculture in the Bay State

I'll start. I love Tendercrop Farm on 1A in Newbury. They have a fantastic selection of locally raised meats that are incredibly fresh and I notice a big difference in quality. http://www.tendercropfarms.com/

Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury has its own apple orchards and excellent Apple Cider in the fall. They also have berry picking in the summer.

We have a nice (small) but nice Farmer's Market down here in Sandwich. Lots of great veggies, plants, meats, cheeses, soaps, cut flowers, fresh breads, lobsters and last year, there was a man there with a pizza oven. It's Tuesdays on the town green.

Crow Farm is a small roadside store at Crow Farm on 6A that always has good produce, flowers, jams and jellies and fresh breads.

Green Briar Jam kitchen sells a great selection of homemade jams and jellies- many made from local produce. You can even take a class and make your own with whatever is in season.

A great place for apple picking is Red Apple Farm in Phillipston. Around the middle to end of September they have the russet apples, which look like pears. Those apples are great! This will be my first fall not living in MA, so I might have to see if they will ship some.

I always liked Derrick Farms in Oakham for blueberry picking. Another great place for blueberries is Monadnock Berries. It is worth the drive to NH to go there. Besides great blueberries, there is a nice view of the mountain.

Both, anything goes. Either way I like to support local agriculture.
