Default Advice on stop sign violation

Hello.
Happened to happen with me today... did not see the stop sign coming from Chelsea over the bridge (witch is under construction) to Sommerville (right at the point where guy sells roses on weekends from his van). Got pulled over with 100$ ticket.
So the question i was unable to find an answer to: Its my first anytime violation. If anybody happen to be in the same situation. Does it affect insurance rate and licence points in any way. I could not find any information about it whatsoever.

Only here: Ran Stop Sign: Fines, Traffic Points and Defense | TrafficViolationLawFirms

No surchargeable points assessed for first offense, 2 points for second

Moving violation is a surcharge.
Not sure if 3 yrs or 5.
Your insurance company can probably gladly answer your question.

Default Insurance Surcharge

My auto insurance co say that Mass is the worst for surcharging on top of the violation fee at six years following a violation. For the first 3 years there is a 15% surcharge per point and the 2nd 3 years is 1/2 of that. Then your status as a preferred driver changes to high risk driver so your basic rate goes up too. Always worth it to fight the ticket and also worth fighting these harsh fines politically - IMO.

By fighting the ticket, do you guys mean just go to court and hope the officer doesn't show up?

I got lucky the other day. Made a right turn after the light turned red and got pulled over. Didn't get a ticket though - maybe the policeman saw that I had a clean record and let me go. Very lucky! This was on berkley st and harrison st.
