mosquito larvae in water for garden
I have two barrels for watering my garden collected from rain water. (trying to be green) One is covered. I have mosquito larvae in both. What can I put in the water to get rid of the larvae, but will not harm my vegetable and flowering plants? I have read that veg. oil works, but I am not sure if it harmful to plants.
Thank you

Mosquitos
Hi,
There's a natural product called "mosquito dunk" that you can buy at Home Depot (or cheaper at Amazon or Ebay) that suppresses growth of mosquito larvae. Should be safe for plants.

Yes, veg oil will work, and you don't need much of it, just enough to make a film on the surface. I don't see how it would ever be harmful to plants, after all it's made from plant products.
