countrygirl69 is on a distinguished road
Default wachusett area

Hi all...

We are looking to move to the Wachusett area of central MA sometime soon to be nearer to our jobs and families. My husband and I both work in Holden, but it's too crowded and expensive there. Our families are near the Boston area so that is a consideration too. The towns we are looking at would be Princeton, Sterling, West Boylston and that area north/east of Worcester. Anyone have any experience with this area? We like things quiet and countryish, not too expensive, and a town with some character to it. Schools are not an issue because we don't have children. Also we'd be looking for an older house, say a nice Victorian. Does this sound like anyone's hometown?

Thanks!

Princeton, Sterling, and West Boylston are all nice towns, but will be just as expensive as Holden. Princeton and Sterling are the most countryish, and are a little more expensive than West Boylston.

You could also look at Paxton and Rutland. Paxton is really nice but the price will be around Holden. Rutland might be a little cheaper than the rest mentioned. If you don't mind traveling a little further you could look at Hubbardston and Oakham. Both are smaller towns not too far away. You should be able to find a victorian or older home in any of the towns i listed.
