Sorry, but baseball was played in the Civil War (most notably between one side's troops and prisoners of the other side) under one of the "rounders" variants, and Irish Rounders today is more like baseball than anything else. Baseball came out of rounders, and the claim that Abner Doubleday invented it has been de-bunked.

it was a law in the books in Pittsfield dating to 1853, that mentioned Baseball.

-Omiskanoagwiak_Springfield_MA

That's the name of the carved wooden Indian at the entrance to Forest Park. I had to look up the spelling--who could spell that??

I mention it because I think it must be the secret location of NORTH LONGMEADOW!

To get to N. Longmeadow, you proceed north on Longmeadow St. (rte 5) toward the city of Springfield. You enter the invisible and imaginary town of N. Longmeadow right around the area that the legendary carved statue of the Indian stands. He does not face our beautiful river. Instead he is turned toward the actual town of Longmeadow as a gesture of the joining of the two towns.

(I just made this up, of course. But if Boston politicians make it all up, so can we.)

Western Ma is anything in 413. Worcester County is Central MA, Eastern MA begins in Framingham.

The only one I am never sure about is Warren.

508, but closer people seem to do most of their shopping/working (if they have jobs) in the 413.
