Default Marlborough Schools

We are thinking of renting a house in Marlborough. We have a 4th and 7th grader. We have heard both good and bad regarding the public schools in this town. Does anyone on this board have any direct or indirect experience with this school system? I appreciate any insight!

Elementary school is good, Middle school is ok, high school is improving... from the MCAS (standardized test) point of view.

Marlborough has a big range of family income level. Hence, the college entrance rate is not as high as many surrounding communities like Sudbury, Southborough, ... etc. However, smart ones always come out on top regardless of which school he or she goes to. Kids from Marlborough do get accepted by MIT (may be 1 or 2)

The real question is what is your definition of GOOD? What is important to you as a consumer? Do you need special education? Small class size?

Boston Magazine recently rated Marlborough High School as one of the 50 best in the state of Massachusetts. Marlborough is also home to an extremely highly regarded Math and Science Charter School!
