Default Moving from Kansas City, Missouri to Salem

I'm working on moving to Salem sometime around the first of the year 2007. Could someone fill me in on the city?

Salem is a great city, rich with history.Real estate prices are high, especially compared to Kansas City. There is plenty of shopping, parks, restaurants, and scenic areas as Salem is a "tourist trap".It is a very traditional town with generations of families.Schools are good if that is a concern and there is always something going on.There are good neighborhoods as well as not so good but for the most part it is very well kept up.I miss it this time of year.October, as you can imagine, is full of exciting activities.Good luck to you.

Salem is more or less on the 'north shore'- very long history, from the mid 1650's- the imfamous witch trials in the late 1690's. Great area to be in - culture, great restuarants, and close to Boston. The rest of New England is 2+ hours away. Cape Cod is close- as is Providence- and Newport RI -not cheap compared to heartland prices- but so much to enjoy.
