I will be starting a new job in Norwood, MA and relocating from another state. I know almost nothing about the area, besides that it is close to Boston, and my favorite teams Red Sox and Patriots. Been gone from New England for many years now.
Kids are grown, so no worries about schools, just husband and a couple cats. He is into wood carving and such artistic stuff and I am the professional working half of us. We have been used to somewhat of a country, living in the boonies lifestyle so this will be a change, to say the least. Looking forward to the variety of cultural attractions currently lacking in our lives.
My head is just spinning from all that is happening and I need some help so that we make the best living choices. Our budget is probably to stay under under $1350 rent, depending on utilities. An apartment complex seems best since they seem to have gym, pool on site. I really would prefer a washer and dryer in our apartment too or at least hook ups so we can bring our own.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks to everyone ahead of time.

Depends on whether you guys want to stay close to Norwood itself or if you want to be closer to Boston for the 'cultural attractions'. If it were me, I don't see why one would need to live close to Boston where rent is expensive if all you need is to go on the weekends for fun.

I suggest looking into Norwood, Walpole, Dedham - you can get a relateive apt for 1350. Perhaps Canton as well.
