I am going to be working in Natick but I am looking to live outside of Boston commuter distance because of price range of needed apartment. My range is between $600-$700. It is imperative that I live in a safe area as I am a single female. Anybody have any ideas of areas/complexes or even other towns? Thanks!

Generally the further west you go the less expensive it will be. There are some nice areas of Worcester (Tatnuck, Salisbury area, etc). Holden is also a nice town out that way and might have some reasonably priced rentals, though that is quite a long commute to Natick. Other folks on the list might have other suggestions that would be closer to Natick but more reasonably priced. Craigslist is a good source for finding rentals.

I also did see these two places that would be nice towns to live in and an easy commute to Natick:

This one is a tiny place but is in a very safe, nice town:

Great first floor apartment located in quite residential area near country club. All neutral colors, eat-in-kitchen w/lots of cabinets and counterspace, updated bathroom (no tub), newer carpet in additional room, nice size yard, common washer/dryer being installed, off street parking, cats and smokers OK. Ready for September
64 North Mill Street,U# - Unit 3 Rent: $675
Holliston, MA 01746
Call Zenaide Swenson, Distinctive Realty (978) 375-3704

This one is on a busy road but is a nice town.
Charming 1 bedroom apartment in 4 family house. Combo living room/kitchen with good sized bedroom. Cats ok, but require a security deposit. Near Hopkinton Center and close to the commuter rail and Route 9, Route 85 Route 135 & Route 495
12 Cedar Street - Unit 3 Rent: $700
Hopkinton, MA 01748
Rent: $700/mo

Both Holliston and Hopkinton are within easy traveling distance to Natick, and are very safe, family-oriented towns. I'm surprised there are rentals in either locations in that price range.

When I was in a similar situation many years ago, I lived in both Shrewsbury and Westboro. Both would be very suitable for your situation. I was a single male at the time, but I would not hesitate to recommend either location to a single female.

You might also look at Grafton--it's a safe country town near Worcester with lots of apartment complexes and not too far from the Mass Pike. You might also consider Hudson and parts of Marlboro which would be much closer and actually in the MetroWest area.
