Default West of I-495. Restaurants in Northampton

What is your favorite restaurant in Northampton?

This past week I was given a choice and I chose good old Sylvester's for the blueberry pancakes. It was really crowded and the place has been enlarged but it was totally delish.

Is La Cazuela gone? It was in that building where you had to walk up the steps to a porch and then they moved it to Main St. They had this incredible Enchiladas con mole poblama (sp?) that was made from their own secret recipe. Last time I was there it just didn't taste the same. Is it still there at all?

Anyone remember Beardsley's?

My DH is partial to brew pubs. Wherever we live we check out which ones are the best in the area. When we travel we tend to frequent the local brewery too.

Our favorite restaurant now when visiting is to head up to the Northhampton Brewery. The food is okay, but the beer is really good. The waitress was so nice and it is a fun place.

Do you mean, La Veracruzana? It is on Main. It is okay. Since we now live in the Southwest, the last time we ate there is doesn't compare to the Mexican restaruants in the Southwest.

My DH and I lived in Wilbraham, MA. Do you remember the mexican restaurant called Chi Chi's? Sad to say that was our first experience of mexican food, so when we discovered La Veracruzana we thought it was awesome. Then after living in the Southwest, when we went home to visit we went to La Veracruzana and it lost it's favor with us.

Maybe that's what I was thinking of. It did used to be good but after it moved to Main St it was nothing to write home about. I guess I never had genuine Mexican food of the kind you can get where you live now.

Chi Chi's sounds vaguely familiar but I never went there. When I lived down in that area there was only the Huke Lau -- lol.

OMG, the Hu Ke Lau. We used to go there all the time to get the Pu Pu platter. As soon as we started driving in high school, groups of us would go there on dates. Many fond memories of that place. The last time we were visting we went there for nostalgia since my DH and I would go there when we were dating. The food wasn't as good as I remember, but okay. It really is all about the kitschy atmosphere.

There is a place here in Vegas that reminds me of the Hu Ke Lau, Kahunaville.
