Default Anyone from Maine that lives on Cape Cod?

I live in Maine , originally from Massachusetts[35 years],vacationed as a teen on Cape Cod[Dennis].I want to live on Cape Cod but wonder how my wife(Mainer)is going to like it?

We live in rural Maine but it is getting noise polluted. Lots of people partying which goes on Cape Cod in the summer, but up here's its year round now. People are just getting noisier.

We love boring. We love hearing a pin drop in a neighborhood it is so quiet.
We love summertime too, going to the beach and the excitement.

Any Mainers on now living on Cape Cod? Glad you move?

It would be best to explore the outer cape, the forearm if you will. Although there are plenty of quiet neighborhoods on the mid cape, the quietest year round areas would be in the towns of Wellfleet and Truro.

I went to school in Farmington. The quietest town on the Cape is Truro, even during the summer. If you have the $$$, it is exactly what your looking for.

I did two years at UMF ('04-'06) before transferring too. I agree with you. I'd say Truro is an excellent fit given your criteria. Wellfleet might work too. I'd definitely stick with the Outer Cape (the "forearm" as someone mentioned earlier).

At the same time, there's nothing anywhere in Eastern MA that's going to be as "quiet" as the smaller communities in Central Maine. The big towns there are the size of the small and mid-size towns here. Hell, even Portland has fewer people than Framingham.

The cost difference will be the biggest hurdle to overcome. Anywhere on Cape Cod is going to cost a lot more than Central Maine. You may have to downsize or settle for less than what you currently have. Good luck!
