Not sure if they have FIOS yet in Franklin, but if so, Verizon all the way. It's a thing of beauty.

Much as I hate Comcast, go Comcast if you are in an area where Verizon only offers DSL.

Unfortunately here on the cape, we only have Comcast so must use them. But we have been so disappointed in the cost/service (we get a bundle of phone, internet and cable) that we decided to go to Direct TV for our cable (wayyyy more channels and cheaper too) and just do Comcast for internet.

We have RCN -- we just had too many issues with Comcast to justify continuing with them.

Where I currently live, I switched from Comcast to RCN. Comcast was just horrible service-wise. Awful, awful, awful. When I posted the link I thought that maybe verizon wasn't much better service-wise and therefore could go with either. But it looks like Verizon isn't in the area after all.

I'll look into DirectTV.

I was with Comcast 1 yr, then RCN 2 yrs, then Comcast now. I switched whenever the monthly rate went up too ridiculously ($50 just for internet).

Sometimes Comcast is horrible, sometimes RCN is awful. They are all bad either way so just pick the cheapest price and switch back and forth.
