Thanks for the concern everybody. I'm ok, really! I wish I could find out this man's name--I don't know why. I brought my flowers and that provided a sense of closure for me. It was upsetting to see someone die like that but at the time I didn't know he was dead (he most likely died instantly) and although this sounds cold, I didn't know him, so I can mourn mostly only the tragedy of a young life ended early as opposed to losing a dear friend or relative.

His name has finally been released to the media. Here's a link:

He's doing ok. Neither kid was a very close friend (though this is such a small town, just knowing someone means you know them pretty well!) One was 2 years ahead of him in school and the other one didn't live in town but went to private school with some of his friends so they had known each other in an acquaintance fashion.

My other son lost a friend this past spring when he just collapsed at lacrosse practice and died. I think it was a brain anuerysim (sp)-they weren't doing any contact drills at the time.

It's been a tough year for this little town!
