MILLIS: Accident last night--any info?
I witnessed an accident last night at the intersection of Forest and Village Sts. Motorcycle hit a car. The kid on the bike was unconscious and unresponsive when they loaded him into the ambulance. I called the Millis PD this morning to see if they had any updates and they didn't but the officer who answered the phone said he thought the kid didn't make it.
Anyone here from Millis who might know more? I'm really upset having witnessed this, called 911, tried to find a blanket for the kid who was going into shock, etc. He had a helmet on but there was a LOT of blood on the street.

Never mind. I found the press release. Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider didn't make it.

And with you too, NC. I know it can be difficult to witness something like this. Take care of yourself.

So sorry you were a part of a tragedy like that but commend you on getting involved and concerned enough to inquire afterwards.

It's been pretty traumatic for me--I can only imagine what it's like for this young man's family. Here's the link to the press release issued by the Millis PD.
wbztv.com - Holliston Man Killed In Motorcycle Wreck (broken link)
Some people on the street where it happened seemed to know him, yet he must have had a Holliston address on his DL because the PR says he's from Holliston. Maybe he'd just moved out of his parents' house.
I was going to drive by the scene today and leave some flowers but the day got away from me. I'll go tomorrow.
I've not been sleeping well. It's now obvious to me that with the amount of blood I saw and his lack of responsiveness, that he must have died on impact. That's the first time I've ever seen a dead body other than at a wake. Very disturbing.

And to compound tragedy: A friend of my son's died a few weeks ago from complications of Cystic Fibrosis. And another acquaintance of his (didn't go to the same high school but was in the same grade and some kids he is friends with here in town go to private school with this kid) drove his truck off the road 4 blocks from his house and died.

Listen, don't rule out talking to a professional, priest or clergyman about this to help you deal with the event. Otherwise, with time it will get better. Take care.

Thanks. I went up to the accident site today and brought some flowers. There is a little shrine there already.

I second this suggestion. Seeing something bad happen to someone can be very tough to deal with. Talking with someone who knows how to guide you through your feelings can be very helpful.
