Default Relocating for work in Longmeadow but where to live?

Hello,

I will be relocating for work in the Longmeadow area and don't know anybody in the area. I do have family in Boston and also in NYC so at least I can make weekend trips.

However, I'm trying to figure out where to live so that I can hopefully meet other professionals in their 20s to early 30s. I just can't live in complete suburbia so I've looked at the Hartford area, maybe West Hartford. I would love a good mix of concerts, bars, restaurants, and shops and I saw that Hartford has some great concerts coming up! Or is there a city in Massachusetts that fits what I'm looking for besides Boston?

Northampton is a great little city with lots of culture, coffee shops, and amazinig restaurants. Two independent movie houses and a very walkable city. It's about a 25 minute commute to Longmeadow.

Just stay out of Springfield, Holyoke, Chicopee... And you'll be fine. As the last post said, Northampton, Hadley, Easthampton, anyplace out here is great.
