If you lived in Camden, you get to retire to the Survivalist Hall of Fame. There is no comparison with Lowell, although I would hesitate to do more than walk to my car in Lowell at night, especially in a bar area.
Lots of beautiful mill-rehab apartments and condos with great security. There's a five-mile walk around the Merrimack River that is gorgeous and full of people during the day (there are real rapids right in town!). Good ethnic restaurants, Cambodian/southeast Asian, Indian.

hi all, i see this thread is old and maybe no one reads it anymore BUT i want to write something....
"I feel sad to hear all the negatives things about Lowell, see i was born in waltham mass and raised lowell I have good memories from Lowell and i always have thought that i want to go visit someday. I don';t live there cause i do NOT like the cold !!!! I remember i lived in 129 salem st. then moved to 289 Moody street then my father bought a house on 35 wiggins street right infront of the Lowell Gas company,I remeber i had a GREAT GREAT friend she lived on Bower street we used to call her "MIDGET" cause she was small. I went to Green School and Bartlett School,I also remember going skating on friday nights to a place called "THE HIGH HAT" it was neat. My mom used to work in a factory called Elite Specialty Yarns ... ( ohhh those memories) I dobt though these places still exits.
The mom decided she couldn;t handle the cold anymore and decided to move to Puerto Rico, i lived in Puerto Rico for 5 yrs. my dad past away i married and moved to Florida, after like 4 yrs moved again to Florida after 7 yrs am back in Puerto Rico BUT will be moving to Texas soon ! (hopefully before summer) Hey now that i have mentioned basically my life story ( I KNOW IT IS TOTALLY OUT OF THE SUBJECT!) I was wondering ..... hmm about my "midget" friend. Her name was Marie F Espinola her brother was Henry Espinola and her sister was Corina Espinola her mom was Geraldine , "message for Marie Espinola if she ever comes into this thread i;m SURE if you think really good some yrs back you will remember who i am we were the BEST of friends and to this day i still consider my BEST friend even though i we haven;t seen each other for OVER 25 YRS ! if you ever come here send me a PM ........ "
Good luck to every one that is considering moving to Lowell ! it was a nice place but i am talking sooooo many yrs back !
