I have several friends who grew up in Stoughton and all spoke highly of it. In fact, a friend of mine is a spanish teacher at the high school. Everyone I know from there is a well adjusted, successful individual. Like any town though, it has good parts and not as nice parts.

I don't know a ton about Mansfield. There's a concert venue in town which causes some traffic mostly during the summer so not too much of a hassle. Also, the only people I know who have lived in Mansfield moved out because they didn't want to put their kids in the town's school system.

I'll put my vote in for easton.. plenty of decently priced homes and the schools are really good. Right now, my wife and I have no kids but chose easton as a place to start our family, after a lot of research.
We're in the process of building a new home, almost 1800 sq ft, for less than 370k. You get a good 'country' feel while not being tooo far away from downtown.

I do not have much information about Norwood.

Mansfield and Easton are great options with good school systems and definitely family friendly. Stoughton's schools have a lower reputation compared to Mansfield or Easton. Stoughton was be best in terms of location for me, but I decided against it after a lot of research and settled on Mansfield, which was the next best location for my commute.

Mansfield also give you to better access to Boston and Providence than Easton if you need to go into either city often. For me, mansfield also give great shopping options between the new Mansfield Crossing, Wrentham mall and even the North Attleboro Mall which is only 10 mins away by highway.

Most of Mansfield is unaffected by Comcast Center traffic(if it is significant), due to two reasons,
1) It is tucked away in the towards Norton Border
2) There is almost a direct road form I-495 to the Comcast center, which does not create any traffic in other parts of Mansfield.

Stoughton has changed over the years. Due to some spill-over from Brockton and Randolph it has taken on more of an urban vibe. It still isn't bad I would say, but I would go with Mansfield or Easton as well. Or Canton, if you could spend a little more and want to be closer to Boston. I know people who went to Norwood High (we're talking 15 years ago), and unless it's changed a lot I wouln't send my kids there. I have not heard great things about their schools lately. While you're looking at those towns, consider Walpole and Foxborough as well.

BrianLNK, would love to know where in Easton you are building. That sounds like a great deal!
