These phones seem like a great deal with the plans for unlimited talk, text, and data being in the 45-55 range.

I was just wondering if any fellow city-data peeps have a prepaid phone. Which phone, what service? How do you like it?

Oh, yes! Yes, we do!

We both have Virgin Mobile. Terrific deal, especially because we are grandfathered in on the 350-minute-per-month, unlimited data plan... at $35/month. But, really, even the pricier plans aren't pricey at all, in comparison to many (most? all?) other carrier plans.

We have ZERO complaints about Virgin Mobile service and phones.

The only "problem" is the time I went home to Montreal. Canada has Virgin Mobile, but their Canadian company has no affiliation with the American one and so my phone didn't work once we crossed the border.

Other than that, though, terrific plan and I love my Android (Optimus V -- older model, which I don't think they sell anymore) phone.

I have a tiny and meager NET-10 phone here in Connecticut. 10 cents a minute to talk and 5 cents for every page of a text that's sent or received. It rounds up to the next minute in all cases. Even if my phone call goes (example) 5 minutes and 2 seconds, it'll come off as 6 minutes (30 second increments would be better). I usually buy a $30 card that adds 300 minutes and 60 days of airtime. The signal seems to be fine for a "cheap" phone, surprisingly enough. I've been with NET-10 for about 5 years now. Sure, it's not the best phone, but I hate owing anybody money (I've always been stubborn like that).

I use ST wireless with $45 unlimited voice, data and text per month. If you buy from Walmart it is $125 for 3 months of prepaid card.

Hope this helps.
