Default Commute from Nashua to Concord,Ma

Hi there,
My husband and I are thinking about moving to NH for cheaper housing.... I work as a RN @ Emerson Hospital in Concord, Ma. Hubby works @ Beverly Hospital.... we are concerned about the driving conditions...we both will not be going towards Boston...but hubby may have to take rt 3 to 128... and that can be tough.... I think I would take 495... any one out there know about the drive to these areas???
Thanks much
Kim

You should be concerned. Commuting from Nashua to Concord and Beverly would be just plain lousy.

Where do you live now?

Default commute from Nashua to Ma

We currently live in Arlington, Ma and hate it... we hate the amount of people congested in such a small area. We live in a condo that is poorly insulated.... we can hear everything and a lot of people smoke.... We were afraid of that..... the drive would not be worth it..
Thanks!
Kim

Why not move to somewhere like Wilmington, Woburn or Burlington instead? You should be able to find a modest house that meets your requirements and the commute in both directions would be a reasonable compromise.

How about Billerica, Bedford, or even Chelmsford or Tewksbury?

I would second the recommendation for Billerica or Chelmsford. Reasonable rents that splits the difference in each of your commutes.

Billerica, Westford, Chelmsford, Tyngsboro, heck even Haverhill would be a much easier commute for him, and just a bit further than Leominster to Concord for you (trading 2 lanes of Rte 2 for 3 lanes of Rte 495). There should be some reasonable rents in that area. If you're seriously considering the commute from Leominster, you may as well go back to the idea of Nashua, NH...

What is your target housing budget? I'd think that much of the savings in moving to Nashua would be gobbled up by the extra cost of gas and the maintenance and wear to your cars like tires, oil changes and brake pads. Plus what is your time worth as you sit in traffic?
