Hi,

we are a one-child-family moving to Boston area. Any suggestions and information that would help us find a convenient area/community to live are most welcome.

We're looking for a nice, affordable 3 bedroom apartment (or house) to rent. We would prefer to live in a relatively peacefull area with good connections to Wellesley area. Any suggestions?

We would also need information on car-related costs (insurances, parking, etc.), and tips on good kindergartens for a four-year-old. Anyone?

"Affordable" is a very relative term... A nice 3 bedroom apartment can easily be around $3000+ utilities($200-400). Of course, every one has different standard of nice also. Here's an example in Newton
Avalon at Newton Highlands - Luxury apartments for rent in Newton, Massachusetts

Car insurance - depends on your drive record, types of car, deductible and where you live... it usually starts around $1000.

Parking in the suburb is usually free. However, if you drive into Boston... monthly parking is about $300-400/month.

Kindergarten... there are many choices... it depends more on where you live and what you expect you kid to do in that environment. Kindergarten is not required in MA but most public school offers it. Most are half days but some full days. The main thing to look for .... listen to the noise level in the classroom. If there are chaos noise in classroom, it usually means... there are problems...
