We are looking to move to Sandwich and wanted to know about getting insurance there. We are looking at an area by the Forestdale school, which looks like it is more inland.
Does anyone know how dificult it is to get insurance in this area, and what it would cost on a $500,000 home? |

That's a good question. I will watch your thread as I am wanting to know about insurance on the Cape too.

I would assume house insurance should be similar to other areas in the state (it should cover fire, theft, what kind of dog you have(liability), swimming pool, distance from fire hydrant, ...etc but not flood).

Talk with either your Realtor or whomever you get your home/auto insurance through now. They will use the FEMA maps (panels) to determine what zone you are in and should be able to give you a quote. I doubt you're in the flood zone but you can check it out at
FEMA Map Service Center - Just enter the address of the house. It's not the easiest thing to work with. |
