Smile Marblehead-after 40

You all do a great job of giving info to outsiders looking to move to the north shore! Perhaps you could help me out too.

I lived on Newbury St. in Boston from 1977 - 1980, then spent nest 2 years in Salem. I have lived in Florida ever since. Last year I divorced and have an agent in Marblehead as we speak, but my home must sell before I move. I'm 49 now and though a lot of posts speak to YOung families and young professionals, I'm wondering if there are many people my age, male and female, that also live there. The sailing clubs sound like a great way to meet people, just want to make sure I won't be a fish out of water. I love the old town area and that is probably where I'll end up buying. Thank you in advance for any info. ~Jc

Default Marblehead

I lived in Marblehead from 2001-2003 and thought it was a nice place but mainly populated by families and not so great for older singles.

I don't think there is any good place for older singles! You feel old in the city, you are single in the suburbs or rural areas.
Some people I know join meetup groups (meetup.com) to meet other people with similar interests. There are hundreds of groups.

I wasn't talking about going to bars....just that the town seemed mostly
filled with families with small children - the Starbuck's can feel like a
daycare center at times. I didn't see too many older singles around
town. I think there are more older singles in nearby towns so it
probably wouldn't be a real problem.

I think Marblehead is great for the 40s crowd... lots of artist in that age group...

umm... for some reason... I think I only see women there.... I wonder where the guys are...
