I would definitely recommend Natick. It is a middle class/lower middle class town, 16 miles west of Boston. It is a very diverse and accepting community. There are many blacks, whites, asians, hispanics, Indians and biracial people around the area. The schooling is very good too. There is a new high school that was just built a few years ago. The education is 37th in the state, which is very good for it's price. It is affordable, and the crime rate is just under the national average, while that might sound high for the area, it is generally low comparing it to neighboring Framingham, or inner-city of Boston. I advice you to come to Natick!

I always find it interesting when people ask about friendliness of an area. How would I know who your exact neighbors will be. I live in Stow and cannot say enough great things about the town and sense of community. I live in a great neighborhood with neighbors who I see as friends. I think Stow is too "rural" for you but would suggest Acton, Lexington, and Concord in your budget and I've meet very KIND people in Acton! But it also depends on your specific location of a house...people can be unkind anywhere.

You guys are a couple years too late to the party. I believe the OP settled in Sudbury if memory serves.

I remember Sunny! I think she said she settled in North Sudbury, so I've probably already met her in real life if she settled in the Nixon school district (and roadstrailstris probably met her if she settled in Haynes). There are only a handful of African American students in these schools who aren't in the Metco program.

Try middle/upper middle class (must have $$$ to move in there these days).

The crime rate there is probably skewed by the mall and other businesses around there, that attract multitudes of people from all over the region. It's a very safe town to live in.

I think she told me in a PM that she bought a house in a neighborhood off of Marlboro Road, but I can't remember one hundred percent. I also don't remember specifically what street it was on.

Yep that's the border of Haynes and Nixon school districts, depending on what part of the road she lives off. I live right around there too, as does roadstrailstris. It'd be funny if we all knew each other in real life but didn't know it. I like to remain anonymous though, it's the only way I feel comfortable spewing out random personal tidbits on a public forum. Although now that I think about it someone actually did PM me on here and guessed who I was. Apparently a lot of people read C-D when they start their home search because it comes up pretty high on a google search, but very few ever sign up to post.

I want to say she lives on or off of Willis.

CD gets great ranking on Google. I got a call last year from someone who had never posted on here before. A lot of people read and don't post and some don't even register.

Probably in Haynes, but it depends on where off Willis she lives. Parsec, do Nixon families join Greenwood or wait for SS&T?

I don't know anyone at Greenwood, but I do recognize a few of the names on their waitlist. Everyone I know is at SS&T or Longfellow. One's at Bosse. If I really wanted to join one I'd just get onto both waitlists, but those clubs are too much green for me. I feel like we are outcasts because we swim at Atkinson.
