Did you mean "can not say enough nice things about it?"

From Whitman
Thank you so-o-o-o much for the "King's Castle" pictures. I go back even further than 1968 (the year one of the previous owners bought it). When I lived in Whitman, in my early teens (somewhere around 1955), I would cut through the woods beside me house to get to King's Castle in the winter time to go ice skating. We went there A LOT!!!!! Could get hot cocoa when we went inside the restaurant.

Do either of you know any of the Bryant's from Rockland? Ron, Walter, Charlie, Maryellen, or Paul? They all grew up there and attended Rockland High School (my Mom, Maryellen graduated in '62)?

Yes I do. Please read my post (Moving back to Boston area) and help me figure out how to move back. I only moved a year ago. Sigh.

I live on the Central Coast of CA now and prefer living here to MA. The cost of living here is much higher than it is in MA and I don't mind at all. I do love Boston, Cape Cod, and the Islands but that's about it. The only things in MA I really miss are my friends and family. Other than that I don't see myself returning to MA in the near future and possible ever other than to visit.

Boston born and raised in Boston, Cape Cod and the NYC area. I currently live in NY - I do not miss Massachusetts and could never see myself living there.
I do however, miss family, friends, the culture and good food, especially SEAFOOD at times.
Cheers

I was in MA last week for a day and couldn't wait to get out of there. In general, I don't like the Northeast though. I don't miss the weather or the people to be honest with you. I do miss Whole Belly Clams and Lobster Rolls though.

Hi! I just finished reading all of your posts. Felt good.....and, I know exactly what you mean about "going back to your home state being a whole different thing than just moving back to MA".
I was born in Brockton, grew up in Whitman (in high school in the 50's) and in 1970 moved to Florida. So, here it is 38 years later and I continue to look forward to my trips each year to Plymouth County with the excitement of a child!!! I don't hate Florida, but have missed MA since the day I left it!! However, there seems to be a few "catches" to moving back......finances being the biggie, having no family in MA tugs at me a little......I do have lots of "old" friends up there!!!! True friends I've known since the first grade!!!
Anyway, unless I win the lottery, I'll continue to look forward "with much excitement" to my trips up there each year. If I DO win the lottery, I'm going to make an offer to the people who live in my "childhood home" an offer they can't refuse. Enjoy your posts.

I miss it. I don't entirely hate where I live right now... I think I could find the good and bad in any state, city, or town..
But, there has always been a spot of nostalgia and a place in my heart for home. Besides, the land is absolutely gorgeous! Autumn up there is simply spectacular!
It is hard to move back with the cost of living doubling and all, but I decided to make the sacrifice anyways... After all, I'm not getting any younger.
Now that my move date is getting closer, I'm getting more and more excited about it.
