I've been in Boston all my life. And for the last year I've been visiting Arizona. Looking to move there ASAP once I can sell my home in Milford Ma
I love Ma BUT the lack of sunshine and summer is taking it toll on me especially the winters.

Default Moved already

Denver
1. No bugs. Open decks instead of screened porches.
2. Low taxes. Especially real estate taxes. Rule of thumb is 0.7% of market price.
3. Turning blue very quickly.
4. Microbreweries.
5. Traffic is less. Not perfect, but many fewer problems.

Have fun with all those floods. Rather be here than there anyday.

I'd move from MA but the move would have to make sense but I got news for you.. Az would not be the place but yea have fun in 150 degree heat with border tension between Mexicans and uptight white people. Not a place I'd be. I'd go to the south like TN before Colorado and Arizona lol.

You are ignorant. Denver has not had any flooding problems.

Oh! I thought you meant "Which American city would Bostonians consider relocating to another country"! How would they arrange the population transfers? How would they move the buildings?

I'd consider moving to the Bay Area (Berkeley, SF) -- actually my wife and I are thinking about getting or renting a place there -- or possibly San Diego. I'm not enamored of most of Southern California.

We have actually considered Boulder, CO and looked at houses there, but a) I'd like to be someplace warmer in the winter; and b) there was just serious flood damage.

I loved the scenery in Tucson but my wife vetoed it -- no good artists and no water. We're also going to look at Miami. (We won't be giving up our home in the Boston area).

Providence would be OK, but I prefer Boston.

Other possible places -- Vancouver if it were affordable, Calgary (I love mountains), Santa Fe (no water but artists), maybe Portland (friends love it). Someone suggested Asheville or Greensboro, NC, I think. Never been there.

Finally, I lived in New York for 6 years. I loved living there and was happy to leave. It might actually be a fun place to live as a retired person as you can walk/take the subway to lots of stuff and you can pretty much have everything delivered. But, since I don't plan to retire, I'll skip NY.
