What do you consider your level of comfort? Do you plan to buy or rent?
I think it depends on what area or town you plan to reside in. The cost of housing can vary quite a bit from town to town. You can expect to pay a minimum of $1000 for a decent rental on an apartment n most places. You can find less in riskier areas or maybe in areas surrounded by colleges, but not a lot. Expect to pay more as you move up. The 'good' news if you are buying is that prices are flat and falling. Lots of foreclosures everywhere. If you are patient and diligent, you could get a bargain. On the flip side, be aware that the property you purchase may not hold its value in the current market. It's hard to tell if it has bottomed out yet - my hunch is 'no'. Keeping in mind that words 'comfortable' and 'affordable' will vary with people tastes and opinions, I think a family income around $100,000 is a good ballpark figure to work from. This assumes you plan to live somewhere is the greater Boston area in a 'median' quality area, if that makes sense. |

Hi! I'm from Plymouth. Have lived here off and on for 45 years. I live on the ocean. Debi, I'd say about 50K would be the minimum yearly take home to live up here. It's pretty darned expensive here! If you weren't raised here, I don't know how well our prices will be tolerated. Real estate is outrageous still although coming down.

Yes, we saw the pics of Tom in the soft boot cast. Weird. But, there is no way he won't play and give it 110%.
These boots are made for walkin', and that's just what they'll do. In 12 days these boots are gonna walk all over you (Giants) ![]() |

That was funny and true. Also, I saw the NY rags called Tommy a girlie man. Idiots. Honestly, they are just jealous.
