My wife and I work on the two opposite sides of the Boston Suburbs. She works in Chestnut Hill and I work in Everett. We are looking for a single family home to raise a family with a yard within the range of $500k-$650k. Where in the Boston Suburbs do we move that has a good commute? I work off the orange line in Everett so the Commuter Rail is a possibility. But she will have to drive. Thanks!

No easy answer, but I'd have to go with Arlington.

Arlington yards are microscopic especially in this price range. However, as you state there's really no easy answer here and Arlington might be the best compromise.

These are two totally different commutes and the best solution really is for one of you to find a new job.

Go CANES!!!

I don't think $500-650K will go too far in these towns, but it migh be worth looking in Sudbury, Acton, Bedford.

If you don't have to worry about schools I think Medford would be a good halfway point. That way you could each go different ways on Route 16.
