Is it safe to drive to Rockport from Reading tomorrow morning? I just want to see the Rockport seashore in winter. Please advise.

Last I heard from the weatherman, the blizzard is hitting the coast most severely tomorrow.

The staties want everyone to not drive unless absolutely necessary - short of a total ban, but not much.
Besides, the view along the coast (and anywhere) will be better when the air isn't filled with flying flakes, don'cha think?

Don't do it. Bad move. Seconding goyguy's answer on this - wait until Saturday or Sunday!

Sure, I agree with you guys, and was aware of these risks.
I am a strange one enjoying all kinds of adventures.

Also I am amateur photographer. I came to Boston area for work as an engineer and for a book about Rockport as well.
Rockport in winter snowstorm is the final chapter to finish.

WAHT SHOULD I DO?

FLY OR GO UNDERGROUND GOD HELP ME!

Why not visit rockportusa.com, glean from there the list (which must be very short) of B & B's that are open all year, then stay for a night or two in one? I also love "RKPT" in the off-season and in fact visited for three days last month. The main drawback is a very limited restaurant selection, particularly for dinner, but if you have a car it's no big deal (just go to Gloucester.) And if a storm hits - or stays around for a while - there are far worse places to be stranded..

Despite what the poster whose gaming is hopefully better than his grammar says, if the staties say to stay off the roads it's probably wise to.

You will be facing hills and narrow winding roads that may still not be clear. I live next to the ocean but not in Rockport and the police have already sent out a message that the roads near the beach will be closed tomorrow at 11:30am in anticipation of high tide. After what happened last year, I have absolutely ZERO interest in looking at the sea in a storm but I know what it feels like to have that curiousity.

I would go and stay on a higher road. You can get a clear view. Gloucester got 20 in.
