I was let go from my job 5 weeks ago due to poor job performance. I have followed all the instructions regarding filing for unemployement. It says I am eligible, yet it has been 5 weeks and I am still waiting. I got all the paperwork, read everything, I am not appealing the monentary decision as to the weekly amount, so why is my claim still in "pending" status? I'm going out weekly , looking for work and reporting weekly. I'm following all the rules....what gives? I can't keep going like this, I will lose everything!!!!!! Someone please help,

I would write to your state representative about your situation.

The state has had many problems with the various new websites including the health connector and unemployment website this year.

There is also on this site an entire forum regarding Work and Employment. I would request help there as well.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

The approval process takes time. When you file, your information must first be confirmed by your former employer, and then your application is evaluated by a DUA agent. All of this takes time, and DUA has a huge backlog, due both to their limited staff and the number of people applying for benefits. 495neighbor offers good advice to contact your State rep -- that can help speed up a frustratingly slow process.

Hi there, I just wanted to update everyone and to Thank you as well. After reading all the messages here I took it upon myself to write my state representative regarding my situation and the delay in payments. Within a week I not only heard back, but received all back payments due me, my account is updated and I am now getting my weekly payments as requested. I STRONGLY suggest that if anyone is still having issues with delayed payments to do what I did. It may help you, at least you will have an answer regarding your delay. Again, thank you everyone who posted here with your support and advice.!!
