Clearly the Red Sox enabled Jared Remy by continuing to employ him long after his dysfunctional violent behavior was known to all. Read today's Boston Globe and it is sickening. In any event, the Red Sox ignored the warning signs of their employee and Jared went on to meet his future dead GF who he clearly killed in a roidal rage. Both parents and the Red Sox organization bear some responsibility. I won't be going to games, watching games or patronizing any Red Sox advertisers untile Remy is released.

Don't you mean his father?

I certainly hope the Remy's do NOT get custody of that little girl.

All i can say is goodbye. The less bandwagon fans the better.
Everyone deserves the right to earn a living. If you have never had kids, especially ones who went bad, you are in no place to judge others. And whenever i hear boycott it makes my skin crawl. Way too reminiscent of how religous groups get others to bow to their agenda.

I wouldn't call for a boycott (I mean c'mon, are you really going to stop watch the Sox?). But after everything that's come down, including the RemDawg's horribly enabling behavior, it makes my skin crawl to listen to him. Let's bring back Eck and be done with this selfish, poor excuse for a father. (I would however certainly boycott his restaurant.)

You don't need a reason to boycott other than the fact that the food at his restaurants is junk.

Sorry, no dice. I'm for personal responsibility. If I commit a serious crime as a full grown man it's not my parents fault, it's not my employers fault, it's not anyone else's fault. It's my fault.

Read the lengthy article in the Sunday Globe about the Remy case, and tell me that RemDawg didn't make a bad situation worse by enabling his scumbag son.

What exactly does that have to do with the Red Sox, other than him being an employee of a TV network that the owners of the team also happen to own?

I don't know if I would blame the Red Sox organization but this was clearly a young man who had severe anger issues that were hidden and enabled by parents and the authorities. The police need to bear some responsibility as well. It's time we stopped treating people who are associated to professional sports like demi-Gods in Boston.

The Remy's are parents. Maybe they were in denial. It was the responsibility of the justice system to prosecute him. Parental judgment can be clouded by emotions. The administration of justice should not be clouded by celebrity.

This whole situation is tragic. I wonder if Remy will plead "affluenza" like that Couch kid did down in Texas.

The police arrested him, over and over again, the judicial system failed. The Boston Globe article was eye opening. "History of violence" doesn't even begin to describe Jared past.

I'm not sure I hold the Red Sox responsible. Holding someone's employer responsible for their behavior (or their son's behavior) is a stretch to me, unless they actively covered up something.

I do hold his parents responsible, and would refuse to go to any of his restaurants. Not that I was planning on it, but if someone wanted to go there I would decline. There were warning signs over and over again with Jared and they have the financial resources to get him any help they could possibly want. At some point they needed to realize how bad their son was, and the custody battles over Jared's kids are despicable in my opinion.
