Just curious as an outsider looking in. The Boston/New England area seems to have been on the best roll in terms of major pro sports teams. Your teams have all won world championships in the last decade (well I know the Pats have not captured for about 10 years now, but...) and even the Pats are always going deep. So I was wondering how New Englanders generally rank your teams - in order of your personal love, following and dedication:

Celtics
Bruins
Patriots
Red Sox
Other

As much as i love football, The Red Sox own my heart. I live and die by them.

I love the Sox, but I went to a college where football was huge and that made me into a big football fan. So, for me it's:

Pats
Sox
There are other teams in this town?

My wife and I actually always get a chuckle when we read the book "Goodnight Boston" to our son at bed time. The Pats & Sox each have their own page in the book but the B's and the C's share a page.

Even after Bird and Orr? That's too bad.

Default What an outsider would say

Having been here for almost ten years, here is my guess based on numbers (I.e size if fan base)

Red Sox
Patriots
Bruins
Celtics

Order will change if a team is doing well, as there are a lot of front-running transplants. You will definitely run in to people who rank these teams differently (rapid Celtics fans, Bruins fans) etc.

Bird and Orr have been retired a long time at this point. I do have many fond memories of playing Magic vs Bird on my dad's computer as a kid though. The Celtics were really bad for a long time and I lost interest. Then when they got good again they did it the quick easy way by trading for players and that really didn't add to my interest.

Hockey was never big in my house growing up. I really enjoyed watching the last two Stanley Cup finals the B's were in, but hockey doesn't interest me enough to watch on a regular basis.
